Current Sermon Series—Knowing God

Our current series is an expositional look at the book of Colossians. How are the words of a simple letter from an apostle to an Asian church related to life in the 21st century? You'll be surprised at how claims of hidden knowledge, identity, physical temptations, and the magnitude of our great God connect to your life today.

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts.  It is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

We believe that there is one living and true God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three distinct, yet equally divine persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in God, the Father.  He is infinite in wisdom, power and love.  He is perfect in holiness and mercy, and personally involved in the lives of men.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, God’s Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.  We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings.  We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, continual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

We believe in the Holy Spirit as one who came to glorify God.  He was sent by Jesus Christ and God the Father to convict the world of sin, proclaim God’s righteousness and judgment, and reveal God’s living Word.  He also regenerates, sanctifies and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit indwells every believer who puts their faith in Christ, and He is the abiding helper, comforter, teacher and guide.

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of believers, with Jesus Christ as its head, together with all persons who have a saving faith in Christ, each having been regenerated by the Holy Spirit.  We believe that the local church consists of those believers in Jesus Christ who organize together to bring God glory through corporate worship, work and fellowship.  We believe that the primary task of the local church is to reveal the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

We believe that Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances that the Lord Jesus Christ instructed the Church to observe and administer until He returns.  They are however not to be regarded as a way to obtain salvation.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, was tempted by Satan, and chose to sin.  Man is lost and without hope because of sin, and his sin nature.  We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross will live eternally with God in heaven.

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom.  We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous, and eternal separation from God of those who reject Christ.

Membership

Membership Covenant

Having been baptized in our profession of faith in Jesus, we joyfully renew our covenant with each other:

  1. We will walk together in brotherly love, exercising care over each other, and admonishing one another as occasion may require.
  2. We will not forsake assembling together, nor neglect to pray for each other.
  3. We will strive to bring up any under our care in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
  4. We will rejoice at each other’s happiness, and endeavor with tenderness and sympathy to bear each other’s burdens and sorrows.
  5. We will endeavor to live godly lives, denying worldly lusts, and by example and intention seek the salvation of our family and friends.
  6. We will cheerfully and regularly give toward the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.
  7. We will, when we move from this place, connect with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.  Amen.
